The Basics of Recommending Products Online, Explained Simply

Recommending other people's products for a commission is one of the simplest business models online: you do not create the product, handle payments or provide support. You are paid for introducing the right person to the right product.

How it works in practice

You get a personal tracking link. When someone buys through it, the seller records the sale and pays you an agreed share. Nothing extra is charged to the buyer.

Where the real work is

The link is the easy part. The work is building something people trust: useful articles, honest explanations, a mailing list that people are glad to be on.

The responsibilities

Disclose that a link earns you a commission. Only recommend material you have looked at properly. Never invent results or imply guaranteed income. Trust is the entire asset — it takes years to build and one bad recommendation to lose.

Educational content only — not financial advice. Individual results vary and are never guaranteed.
